The 200-bed District Hospital in Songinokhairkhan, Ulaanbaatar—the largest district in Mongolia—was built under the ADB-funded “Fourth Health Sector Development Program.” As a turn-key project, it replaced outdated infrastructure, ensuring first-class healthcare delivery and expanding access to specialized primary care. The hospital serves both local residents and referred patients from Bayangol District. VAMED’s scope included full construction and equipping, as well as support for human resource development. Commissioned during the COVID-19 pandemic, the facility is equipped to operate under emergency conditions, enhancing resilience and health service quality in the capital.
