The Central Hospital No. 1, the National Cancer Centre, and the National Centre for Maternity & Children Health, all located in Ulaanbaatar, were upgraded through renovation and the supply/installation of new medical equipment.
Disciplines in the facilities include andrology, anesthesiology, cancer treatment, cardiology, dermatology, dialysis, ENT, imaging, maternity, neonatology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, pain relief, palliative care, pediatrics, proctology, pulmology, radiology, radiotherapy, rehabilitation, TCM, and urology.
VAMED provided the first two linacs for the country, and extensive training for doctors and technicians formed part of the contract. The projects were supported by soft-loan funding from the Republic of Austria.
