Mongolia’s National Cancer Center (NCC), founded in 1961, is the country’s sole state institution for cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and research. This Austrian-funded project enhanced NCC’s services by upgrading outdated radiation therapy equipment and establishing a stereotactic radiosurgery center. It included construction of a bunker, installation, commissioning, warranty services, and domestic and international training. The bill of quantity focused on neurosurgery and radiotherapy. With advanced technology and expanded capacity, the NCC can now treat two previously incurable cancers in Mongolia, significantly improving survival rates, especially for underserved populations.
