Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, VAMED and Hilfswerk Austria delivered a fully equipped community hospital in St. Louis-du-Nord within 7 months. Built using container construction, the facility includes an operating room, observation ward, outpatient clinic, pharmacy, water treatment, and electricity supply. As a pro-bono project for earthquake survivors, it addressed urgent needs in medical care and sanitation. The hospital quickly became a vital refuge and was recognized by the public health authority as one of the most important health facilities in the region.
