The National Center for Maternal & Child Health (NCMCH) is Mongolia’s sole referral center for complex obstetric, gynecological, neonatal, and pediatric cases from all 21 provinces. As a continuation of Phase 1, VAMED implemented Phase 2 to complete outstanding upgrades and fully utilize previous technological advancements. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the project improved tertiary healthcare for women and children in line with global standards. VAMED’s scope included renovating operating theatres, installing medical equipment and an MRI, and delivering on-site training at Austrian hospitals—ensuring sustainable use of equipment and long-term capacity building in maternal and child healthcare.
