The New Amsterdam Hospital Campus is a landmark project under an MoU between the Governments of Austria and Guyana, aiming to address major gaps in Guyana’s public healthcare system. Designed as a modern, sustainable facility, it offers emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care, surgical theatres, diagnostic and treatment areas, a pharmacy, labs, central sterilization, a mental health clinic, and a teaching facility. This campus decentralizes access to high-quality care, integrates clinical training, and promotes mental health support. As a catalyst for long-term transformation, it sets a model for regional hospital development and improved health equity in Guyana.
