To address post-war health challenges in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province, the government prioritized restoring healthcare infrastructure through its 2015–2025 National Master Plan. Funded by a Dutch soft-loan, this turn-key project enhances healthcare equity, quality, and access across four hospitals: Point Pedro, Kilinochchi, Mankulam, and Vavuniya. The facilities include a maternal and women’s health center with the province’s first mammography unit, a rehabilitation and mental health center, and cardiology, nephrology, accident, and emergency units. This initiative marks a major step toward rebuilding and modernizing care in a region long affected by conflict and chronic health issues.
